Are chief editors picking the right content to put on the front page?
Perhaps not, according to a report by PR-ish company Mediametric.
They looked at a bunch of articles from the New York Times, Breitbart, The Washington Post and The Independent to see how they ranked on social media, and which articles were on the front pages of their websites.
Mediametric looked at the pages for three days, looking at which articles were on the front for the longest and which ones did well on Facebook.
Guess what? The editors’ picks didn’t line up to the great social media ones.
The controversial DACA move, and the subsequent article by The New York Times, was the only one which scored well on social media and for one of the longest times on the front.
